Updated October 2026: An earlier version called this fridge a "3-door" Bespoke AI with AI Energy Mode, a 7-inch screen and a 15 percent savings claim, under the model number RF23BB8900Q. Samsung's own spec sheet for the RF23BB8900 describes a 4-door counter-depth model with Family Hub and no AI Energy Mode. The page was rewritten around that sheet and retailer listings. The star rating, the price range and the claims nobody here could source were removed, and nobody on this site tested the unit. A second pass on 14 October 2026 added the sheet's FlexZone presets and true total capacity, dropped a Best Buy rating that could no longer be checked, and noted that Samsung US has stopped listing the model.
The line-up is confusing, so start with the names. The RF23BB8900 is Samsung's Bespoke Counter Depth 4-Door French Door Refrigerator (23 cu. ft.) with Family Hub. "4-door" counts the two upper doors, the FlexZone drawer and the freezer drawer. The newer RF23DB9900QD is a different fridge with a larger screen and AI Vision Inside, and I'll come back to it near the end.

I couldn't find a trustworthy current price for this exact model, and the reason is that it's on its way out. A search of Samsung US returns no RF23BB8900 at all, one retailer marks it "replaced by" a newer model and another lists it as discontinued. What's left is retailer stock, so compare the model suffix and the panel color before you compare the number, and ask whether the price reflects a clearance.
What Does Bespoke Mean in Practice?
Samsung's Bespoke line is about customizable door panels. Instead of one fixed stainless finish, you choose colors in glass or steel, and Samsung's sheet says the panels can change later. Typical colors on the RF23BB8900 listings include charcoal glass tops with matte black steel middle and bottom panels, or white glass.
That's the pitch, and it's a good one if the fridge sits in an open kitchen. The cooling hardware underneath doesn't change with the color you pick. Which part of the price is the finish, and which is the technology? Compare two suffixes of the same model and the answer is usually "mostly the finish."
What Does Family Hub Add on the Connected Side?
Samsung says Family Hub lets you see inside your refrigerator, manage family calendars, stream music and see who's at the front door. The sheet lists the fridge as Wi-Fi enabled, and Samsung's own pages add Alexa built in. An earlier version of this page also listed Google Home from a retail listing; I couldn't find that on any Samsung page, so it's gone.
An earlier version also quoted a Best Buy score and review count. I couldn't open that page at the time of this update, so the numbers are gone too; read the owner reviews yourself before you buy. One limit needs no reviewer: an internal camera sees the front row of a shelf, not the jar behind it, so the inventory view is never complete. And any glossy screen in direct sun will look washed out, which is worth checking in your kitchen before you pay for one.
My view is that the screen will age faster than the fridge. A refrigerator should last well past a decade; a Samsung display and its software won't be fashionable in half that. Buy it for the kitchen shelf you actually want, not the tablet.
How Much Capacity and Storage Do You Get?
Samsung sells it as 23 cu. ft., and the same sheet puts the measured total at 22.5: 13.2 in the fridge, 2.5 in the FlexZone drawer and 6.8 in the freezer. ENERGY STAR's listing uses the 22.5 figure too. In a counter-depth body that makes it a mid-size family fridge. The sheet gives four shelves, six door bins including a gallon bin, and two clear drawers including a Crisper+. Counter depth costs you some capacity compared with a standard-depth 28 cu. ft. model, which is the trade for a flush front.
The FlexZone drawer is the useful storage feature. It sits between the main compartment and the freezer drawer, and Samsung's sheet lists five presets: Soft Freeze at 23F, Meat/Fish at 30F, Cold Drinks at 34F, Deli/Snacks at 37F and Wine/Party at 41F. So it can act as a cold-drinks, deli or meat drawer, and the Soft Freeze setting is the one worth knowing about if you buy meat in bulk.
Twin Cooling Plus uses separate cooling for the fridge and freezer, which keeps freezer odors away from fresh food. Don't assume it's a Bespoke exclusive.
How Good Are the Beverage Center and Ice Maker?
The Beverage Center is the part buyers underrate. Samsung's sheet and retail listings pair a water dispenser with an AutoFill water pitcher. Samsung's sheet also lists a dual ice maker that makes cubed ice or Ice Bites, up to 5.3 lb a day and 7.3 lb stored.
Nothing on the sheet says how loud the ice maker is or how long the filters last. Those are the details that decide whether you like a fridge after a year, and no source I found measures them.
What Does the Premium Actually Buy You?
Compared with a plain Samsung French door fridge of similar size, the Bespoke 4-door adds panels, Family Hub and the Beverage Center. The FlexZone drawer and Twin Cooling Plus appear on cheaper models too. So the premium pays for looks, a screen and a water setup.
If the panels fit your kitchen design, that part is real value. If the Family Hub screen would replace a tablet you'd buy anyway, the math improves. If you want the most reliable French door fridge at the lowest cost, price a model without the screen first.
How Does the Newer RF23DB9900QD Compare?
Samsung's later 23 cu. ft. model is the RF23DB9900QD, sold as the Bespoke counter-depth 4-Door Flex with AI Family Hub+ and AI Vision Inside. Retail listings put it at about 22.8 cu. ft. (ENERGY STAR says 22.5), 35 7/8 x 73 x 28 3/4 in, and 631 kWh per year, with a 32-inch screen. Listed sale prices ran from roughly $3,200 to $4,200 against a $5,099 regular price at the retailers I checked in October 2026.
